Another user of your system may've downloaded it using their Steam account (all Skyrim files are shared on the one system, no matter who installs them), you may've gained access to it via Family Sharing, or if Skyrim was installed a long time back, you may've indeed gained access via that bugged update.

This is a list of the official add-ons, downloadable content created or officially endorsed by Bethesda Softworks for Skyrim. Five add-ons have been released for Skyrim, with two free add-ons exclusive to the PC version of the game. The Creation Club provides additional official content for Skyrim Special Edition, created by both Bethesda and external developers. The Nintendo Switch version of the game features exclusive content that is unlocked in-game through the use of amiibo.
Dawnguard, Hearthfire, and Dragonborn are included as part of the Legendary Edition compilation and Special Edition. Neither of the free add-ons, Fall of the Space Core, Vol 1 and the High Resolution Texture Pack, are available for Special Edition. The latter add-on is made redundant for this release however, as Special Edition uses high-resolution textures in place of the original assets.
Standalone Add-Ons
Add-On | Platform | Required Version | Description | |
---|---|---|---|---|
High Resolution Texture Pack | Experience The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim as you've never seen it before with the Skyrim High-Resolution Texture Pack. | |||
Fall of the Space Core, Vol 1 | To celebrate the opening of the Steam Workshop for Skyrim, Valve and Bethesda have teamed up to bring you the Portal 2 Space Core mod, which will let the aggressively space-centric little robot tag along on your adventures in Tamriel. | |||
Dawnguard | PC PS3 | The Vampire Lord Harkon has returned to power. By using the Elder Scrolls, he seeks to do the unthinkable - to end the sun itself. Will you join the ancient order of the Dawnguard and stop him? Or will you become a Vampire Lord yourself? Featuring an all new faction questline and locations, the ultimate choice will be yours. | ||
Hearthfire | PC PS3 | With this official add-on to The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, you can purchase land and build your own home from the ground up - from a simple one-room cottage to a sprawling compound complete with an armory, alchemy laboratory, stable, garden, and more. Use all-new tools like the drafting table and carpenter's workbench to transform quarried stone, clay, and sawn logs into structures and furnishings. Even transform your house into a home by adopting children. | ||
Dragonborn | PC PS3 | Journey off the coast of Morrowind, to the island of Solstheim. Encounter new towns, dungeons, and quests, as you traverse the ash wastes and glacial valleys of this new land. Become more powerful with shouts that bend the will of your enemies and even tame dragons. Your fate, and the fate of Solstheim, hangs in the balance as you face off against your deadliest adversary – the first Dragonborn. |
Creation Club
Creation Club is an in-game cash shop for Skyrim Special Edition that offers microtransactional add-ons using a digital currency called Creation Club Credits. It is available on PC, Xbox One, and PS4.
Creation Club offerings are known as 'Creations' and are official Bethesda content, developed with third party developers and contracted mod authors.
